The Genesis Team Is Here To Serve You

Why would we create the Genesis Family Aging Center? The answer is, because all of our team experienced such challenges with aging parents. We knew others had the same experience. So, we want to make a difference, point to resources, give you a hand, and create community. Nobody should be alone trying to figure out the maze of aging with government agencies, legal issues, health institutions, family, and SO MUCH MORE. If you are just stepping into this space, it can be overwhelming. Our WHY? We want to serve families as they walk the road of aging with their parents.

All our staff have mediation training to assist with any conflicts along the road to aging.  We all have walked the path of aging with our parents or still in the process. Most of our staff have advanced degrees. When you speak with any of our staff, they understand the journey of aging and challenges along the way. We are here for you. You are NEVER alone.

Hi all, I’m Dr. Randall Kinnison, aka Doctor Peace, and I founded Genesis Mediation in 2005. My mission was simple – create more peace in the lives of others every day. Since that beginning, I, and the Genesis Team have created peace for thousands of people. The vision is creating peace for 1 million by 2026.  I personally have over 35 years of experience in mediation, counseling, coaching, and consulting. With over 9,000 hours of mediation, I know conflict and how to resolve it. I deeply understand the dynamics between couples and families, business and non-profits, and that is why I am collaborating with dozens of professionals to work alongside and create a more peaceful world.
I enjoy building relationships and helping others find meaningful purpose in life. While raising my children I was able to minister to others through a variety of opportunities, including my private counseling practice. After ten years of practice, I closed that chapter of my life and completed mediation and life coach training. I like to help people find compassionate resolutions to difficult situations. Life has provided me many opportunities to walk alongside others as a counselor, coach, mediator, legal guardian, mentor and friend to people of different nationalities, and all walks of life. Recently I joined Toastmasters International and I’m also excited to be a part of The Decision Tree of Aging project. I earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and an MA in Counseling Psychology from George Fox University. Married to Ron and had two daughters.  I look forward to spending time with our first grandchild.

I worked in conflict resolution and a mediator in various roles for over 13 years. My experience in working with individuals, families, and organizations to help understand the complexities that conflict creates has brought clarity and peaceful environments for resolution to occur.   I bring helpful empathy and understanding into complex situations and I am able to offer “pro-partial” support to all parties involved. I also believe that true peace comes not from lack of conflict, but from the presence of a wholeness achieved through careful listening and empathetic understanding.  I work hard to offer support, clarity, and peace in the midst of confusion, conflict, and frustration.  I’ve had mediation training through Genesis Mediation and Multnomah County Mediation Program for Small Claims in Multnomah County Court. I have a Masters of Divinity from Abilene Christian University.  I also earned a Bachelors Degree in Ministry and Philosophy from Abilene Christian University. I have been president of  the PTO  for Kinnaman Elementary School and International School of Beaverton.
I have spent over ten years directly evaluating high risk, dangerous clients; coaching and facilitating changes, having a direct impact on positive behaviors, and successes in life.  I have invested eighteen years doing project management involving state wide activities within multiple secure institutions.  I am an executive administrator, mentor, and advisor for multiple layers of a large state organization. I am confident to say I have a relational, intuitive, and caring approach to conflict resolution. I have a passion for mutual peace to the mediation process.

I spent twenty-six years overseeing and working among extreme risk and dangerous clients. Eighteen of those years was in executive administration overseeing total operations of large secure facilities. High risk assessments were made everyday ensuring safety to the public at large. And for the past twelve years, I have been a public speaker, teacher, coach, mentor, and counselor focusing on bringing peace, conflict resolution to individual lives, families and relationships. My heart is that people approach conflict with a desire for mutual harmony. My Genesis team role is in divorce and family mediation, elder care, and estate matters.
My goal is to work within an organization which represents an exemplary level of compassionate professionalism. I am a match for organizations valued for their integrity of both character and mission. Sharing vision for the common good of individuals who are served by and those who work within healthcare and humanitarian organizations is a way for all to mutually thrive. Jointly we can flourish as leaders and mentors in communities longing for healing and hope as we embrace and live our shared values for the care, dignity and respect of all.

I have served as a Pastor for 44 years, a fire chaplain for Clackamas Fire, and as moderator for my association of churches.  I have also served as a leader in many community groups. I firmly believe that “Blessed are the Peacemakers” , and I strive to facilitate that in my personal and professional life. I have been involved in extensive continuing education through the North American Baptists, Clackamas Fire District, Ford Foundation for Community development and various other associations including mediation training from Dr. Randall Kinnison. I have an AA from San Bernardino Valley College, a BS from Corbin University, and a  MDiv from North American Baptist Seminary.  I am also married to Janet and live in Goodyear Arizona and have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
My real world experience is in commercial and residential construction and sales. I learned the art of negotiation dealing with dairymen and homeowners. In February 1980 I gave my life to the LORD. Through the years I felt the callling to preach. I was accepted to Southwestern Baptist Seminary in the Fall of 1990. Riverside Baptist Church called me as their pastor in May of 1993. Five years as a pastor, I felt the calling to chaplaincy. The Fall of 1998, Good Samaritan Hospital accepted me into the Clinical Pastoral Education (Chaplain Education) program. After graduating, I began my chaplain career with Hospice of the Valley May 1, 2000. I have witnessed the need for “Just in Case” and “End of Life” planning. I earned two theology degrees from Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Ft. Forth Texas, with a Field Experience degree in Business and Construction Management. I married Ann December 7, 1979. We have four sons and a daughter; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandson.
